The Athenaeum on Angel Hill is a beautiful listed building in the heart of Historical Bury St. Edmunds and the double staircase leading down into the Robert Adam style ballroom provides a spectacular entrance for any wedding reception. Sunday 19 September is the date for our Wedding Spectacular in Bedford for the Spring Season at The Bedford Swan Hotel on the Embankment in Bedford. Built in 1794 for the 5 th Duke of Bedford, this elegant 110 bedroom hotel stands on a site in the heart of Bedford overlooking the River Ouse. Our Wedding Spectacular takes place in The Coachroom where visiting Brides-to-Be and their families will find a fantastic range of up to 40 exhibition stands and the Fashion Shows in the Duke of Bedford suite in the main hotel. We return to Girton College, University of Cambridge, for our Autumn Mid-week event following highly successful Wedding Spectaculars in 2008, 2009 and Spring 2010. This College, established in 1869 as the first residential College for Women, is set in 50 acres of mature woodland and gardens and is some two and a half miles northwest of the centre of Cambridge on Huntingdon Road. The beautiful rich brick and terracotta mid-Victorian buildings enclose a series of large grassed courts and is the ideal venue for your civil ceremony and wedding reception. The College provides a warm romantic atmosphere in a choice of exclusive rooms and they can cater for intimate gatherings up to 120 guests seated in the Old Hall. Sunday 20 February 2011 takes us to a stunning venue at The National Trust’s West Wing at Ickworth in Horringer, Bury St. Edmunds, an historic Grade 1 listed building created in 1795 by the 4th Earl of Bristol. Nestling in 1800 acres of spectacular gardens and wooded parkland designed in part by "Capability" Brown, it provides a beautiful setting for your wedding day.
